Vacationing at a gay resort is risky business for Winter Media’s CEO, Graham Winters. In negotiations for the purchase of an anti-LGBTQ publication, if found out he preferred men, the deal would collapse, along with Winter Media’s bottom line. But take a risk, Graham does. He can’t pass up two weeks where he can be himself.

But when Graham arrives at Secretus, there is no record of his reservation. Never one to take no for an answer, he coerces the owner of Secretus, Chris Katsaros, to let him stay in Chris’s home.

Winter Media owns one of the worst gossip rags in the country, so Chris has no choice but to agree to Graham’s terms. Chris keeps a low profile when it comes to Secretus, securing a safe environment where high profile gays can relax without media hounding their every move. An introvert by nature, Chris has a difficult time letting anyone into his life. As a foster kid, he had never experienced love until adopted by Pete and Bob.

Forced to entertain Graham, Chris finds they have more in common than he ever thought. The attraction between them is real, and Chris’s guarded heart begins to thaw.

Interview

Is There a Message in Your Novel That You Want Readers to Grasp?

Yes, in a subtle way it’s about how social media has the power to destroy a person’s reputation or spread fake news. And who is held responsible for this? I don’t hit you over the head with this message, but it’s one of the conflicts between Media mogul Graham Winter and political activist and resort owner, Chris Katsaros. BUT: The book is a romance first and foremost, and that’s what I focused on, more than this message.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

Keeping the middle of the story fresh and interesting. I’m energized in the beginning relieved in the end.

How many books have you written and which is your favorite?

I’ve written sixteen MM romance books, four with author Vina Grey. My favorite is Redemption.  The world building was so much fun to create. The plot complex with interesting twists and turns. Really, a blast to write! The reviews were five stars, but the book tanked. We would have written a sequel if the book had sold well.

If you had the chance to cast your main character from Hollywood today, who would you pick and why?

(Okay, so I cheated and searched on the web)

Graham would be played by a young Gerard Butler. He has the classic good looks and cleans up well in an expensive suit and tie. When he smiles his features soften into someone who looks so kind and genuine. That is Graham’s true nature.

Chris, who is slightly younger, would be played by Penn Badgley. He has the dark, curly hair, and the build, as well as a look of vulnerability that I imagine in Chris.

When did you begin writing?

I began writing in this particular genre in 2009. I had my first book published in 2006.

How long did it take to complete your first book?

I wrote a historical fiction set in WWII. It took me several months to write the book because of the extensive research.

Did you have an author who inspired you to become a writer?

All the authors I’ve read since childhood.

What is your favorite part of the writing process?

Brainstorming ideas with Vina and my writing community. Coming up with the cast of characters and putting them into difficult situations. Most of all, I love plotting and world building.

Describe your latest book in 4 words.

 Romantic, warmhearted, gentle, redemption

Can you share a little bit about your current work or what is in the future for your writing?

Ah, the future. I’ve been horrible on predicting my writing future. I have good intentions, but I also have a very hectic schedule (and Vina’s is even more crazy!). I divide my time between writing and art now. My move to California has caused an increase in my social life, because I spend lots of time with my sibs. Which is great but that means I spend less time writing.

I will be publishing the last book in my Kresnik/vampire series with Loose Id. The book is completed and I will send it to my editor this month. Vina and I have a western romance set in Idaho. We are currently seeking a publisher, hoping it’ll be picked up. And we’re writing Forbidden Bite, featuring Angelo and Jude Mikhail from our Orbus Arcana series.

Blog Tour: Angels & Patriots by @SalinaBBaker #review #historical #fantasy #giveaway

Historical Fantasy

Sons of Liberty, Lexington & Concord, Bunker Hill

On the eve of the Revolutionary War, American patriots are leaving their homes and families behind to stand firm against the British. What these early Americans do not realize, is that while they prepare themselves for their battles, a war is simultaneously playing out among the soldiers—one that poses a far greater threat to their lives and souls.

Demons that God created to kill a brotherhood of fallen angels are fanning the embers of the Revolutionary War to draw the angels out of hiding. They walk and fight alongside patriots and British soldiers alike.

Archangel, Colm Bohannon, leads his angel brothers to Boston to track down the demon leader and to warn John Hancock, Samuel Adams, Dr. Joseph Warren, and the Sons of Liberty that the British army is not their only threat. The patriots will need to engage with two enemy forces on the battlefield. As it stands, the band of angels is road weary and struggling with infighting and earthly temptations. Is faith a strong enough shield to fight off demon attacks and protect the patriots?

Angels & Patriots is the violent struggle for freedom, played out on the battlefield and the firmament as the angels fend off the demons in a quest to serve both humans and God.

Review

The story itself was engaging and read very much like a movie to me. You get introduced to a whole new world and new characters in the beginning.

The Historical part of the story is one I wasn’t 100% about in the beginning, just because I’m not a a history buff and didn't know if I would get lost in that aspect. I think Salina B. Baker managed to give it plenty of fictitious characteristics so that it didn’t feel like a Historical novel.

Author

Salina’s lifelong passion for history and all things supernatural led her to write her first two novels. Reading, extensive traveling and graveyard prowling with her husband keep that passion alive. Salina is a software developer. She lives in Austin, Texas and is a member of The Writers’ League of Texas. She has three forthcoming novels in the works for 2017.

Previous Novel in the Series

Interview

Is There a Message in Your Novel That You Want Readers to Grasp?  Yes.  I want them to be aware of Hitler’s attempt at New World Order.  History always repeats itself.  I also want them to be aware that alien lore has many grains of truth to it.  Conspiracy is not fake news.  Theories come from patterns.

Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?  It’s like putting the ultimate quilt together and making everything fit.  Writing is hard, but it’s also fun and challenging.

How many books have you written and which is your favorite? I have written seven books so far and am working on my eighth.  I am very proud of all of them.  I think my last two are perhaps my best, but am always striving to top myself.

If you had the chance to cast your main character from Hollywood today, who would you pick and why?  Alicia Keys or Rosario Dawson would have been good picks for Maya, but they are getting a little older.  Maybe Michelle Rodriquez would be a great pick for the lead.

When did you begin writing? 2010, when I got laid off.  I haven’t stopped since even though I work full time as a teacher.

How long did it take to complete your first book?  It took about 6 months.

Did you have an author who inspired you to become a writer?  I absolutely love Dan Brown, Jim Marrs (RIP), Stephen King, Joel Rosenburg, Brad Thor, and so many more.  I try to read a book or two every month.  I really love A.G. Riddle as well.

What is your favorite part of the writing process?  The end!  The last thirty thousand words become an obsession.  I actually dream of various ending scenarios.

Describe your latest book in 4 words. Conspiracy, alien, occult, genetics

Can you share a little bit about your current work or what is in the future for your writing?  The Sequel is about Hitler and his Nazis circa WWII.  I go into his obsession with the occult.  Alien lore such as Hollow Earth and Reptillian beginnings is also included.  Anyone who likes the offbeat details of history as well as conspiracy would love this book.
The Sequel: Maya Smock gets inside of a time capsule and travels back to 1944 Germany. A Nazi doctor forces her to meet his superiors, proving to them all that his invention works. Hitler studies Maya like a laboratory rat at his Eagle’s Nest and then introduces her to the Reptilians. She plummets deep into the hollow earth. Will she ever get home? Only Maya’s next novel can show her friends how to get her back.

As Operation Chrome expands, General Andreas steals more babies. He believes that he is saving them from an extraterrestrial agenda connected with World War II. The hybrid babies have grown.

They are here. They will take what is theirs.

Dina Rae has written seven novels. She lives with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs outside of Dallas. She is a Christian, avid tennis player, movie buff, teacher, and self-proclaimed expert on several conspiracy theories. She has been interviewed numerous times on blogs, newspapers, and syndicated radio programs. She enjoys reading about religion, UFOs, New World Order, government conspiracies, political intrigue, and other cultures. The Sequel, Volume 2 of The Best Seller series, will soon be released by Solstice Publishing.

Blog Tour: Dennis & Greer by @mollymgould

Historical Romance
Date Published: October 3, 2017
Publisher: Belle Reve Press

 photo add-to-goodreads-button_zpsc7b3c634.png

Dennis and Greer is a nonfiction love story in letters and journals between 2 college students during the Vietnam era. (This is nonfiction that reads like fiction)

A true story that encapsulates the horrors of war and the innocence of young love.

Buried in a trunk for fifty years, this long-forgotten tale, told through letters and journals from the war-torn Vietnam era, has been resurrected.

College students, Dennis and Greer, met and felt a spark just before moving to different states. Their witty correspondence through letters conjured a desire to meet again, but Dennis tried to keep his distance; duty is more important than love.

As the two embarked on their journey into adulthood and navigated their relationship against the backdrop of war, they were writing a love story that will span the test of time.

About the Author

She now confines herself indoors with the AC full-blast in her sunny sate of AZ. Occasionally, she’ll brave the scorching heat with her husband and four children.

When Molly inherited a treasure of vintage journals and letters, she was swept away by the love story contained within those writings. She couldn’t keep Dennis and Greer to herself, so she began transcribing and Dennis and Greer was born.

One hit man who’s back for revenge.
One detective who’s not going down without a fight.

It’s been ten months since Detective Madison Knight almost died at the hands of Russian Mafia hit man Constantine Romanov. She hasn’t seen hide nor hair of him since he escaped police custody and fled to Russia soon after his arrest, except now her latest murder investigation gives her reason to believe he’s back in town. Seeing as the victim is the man who killed her grandfather, her perspective may be a little skewed, but with the MO smacking of Constantine and the victim’s connections to the mob, she finds it hard to be objective. Still, she’s doing her best to consider all the evidence.

When she receives a threatening letter from Constantine, however, her suspicions are confirmed. And he’s made it abundantly clear that not only does he plan to finish what he started but he has her family and loved ones in the crosshairs, too. Madison vows to do whatever it takes to save them, but as the hours race by, the body count rises. And the stakes only get higher when Madison’s sister, Chelsea, goes missing.

Now, Madison’s only play is to take Chelsea’s disappearance for what it really means: Constantine is calling Madison out for one final showdown. And they won’t both survive…

Review

This one is a definite page turner. I was very impressed with Carolyn Arnolds way with words and how she has kept Madison Knight's character fresh from novel to novel.

You do not need to have read the previous novels, but you will definitely want to read more about the previous cases after reading this one.

Great Suspense and Mystery. Definitely kept me guessing.
