Review

Oh Boy, I'm a sucker for Historical Romance. There is something so fun about being transported back in time and feeling like your living in a different era if an author can execute it well, its an even better escape than reading Contemporary.

Dive into a historical world with Joyce Proell. She has created a novel that really takes the reader back in time. This novel shows how much a writer can understand her genre and make sure every in and out is authentic to the time period.

This series has really managed to build on relationships and characters and get better with each installment. Cady and Doyle have been through plenty, but this novel creates their biggest test yet with surprises from Doyle's past.

I loved the balance of Romance and Mystery in this novel. There is a lot going on and  the characters have a lot they have to get through while trying to understand their budding relationship and fight for it. It is a solid historical romance.

The mystery elements in these novels are always very well done as well. Joyce Proell creates scenerios that are not easy to unravel and keep you invested throughout the entirety of the novel. I don't want to be able to figure everything out too early in a novel, I want to be surprised.

I enjoyed this romance/mystery immensely. It was very well done and the pacing was spot on.

Joyce grew up in the Midwest and attended college and grad school in Chicago. After working in mental

health, she retired to write full-time. Her first book, Eliza, was published in 2012. A Wicked Truth is the

third book in the Cady Delafield series. When she isn’t writing mysteries or historical romances, she

loves to swim, walk and is a crossword puzzle fanatic. She and her husband live in Florida and

Minnesota, in her very own little house on the prairie.
